  • Autumn organized an symposium, “Analytical Advancements for Emerging Contaminants” at ACS Fall 2024 in Denver, CO. Thanks to all invited and contributed speakers, and Bruker’s sponsorship for the speaker’s dinner and travel funds for junior academics!

  • Congrats to Einar in passing his comprehensive exam! Another PhD candidate!

  • Autumn and Yasuaki attended the Metabolism, Aging, Pathogenesis, and Stress in C. elegans (MAPSS) conference in Madison, WI in June 20-23, 2024. Autumn gave an oral presentation on mass spectrometry imaging on C. elegans, and Yasuaki presented a poster.

  • The Qiu Lab had our debut at ASMS 2024 in Anaheim! Aidan, Ryutaro (Einar), Jasmin and Jacob had four poster presentations. Wonderful work!

  • Our undergraduate researcher, Abby Smith, has won a first-place award for her poster presentation at the UURAF. Congratulations, Abby!

  • What a fun day at MSU Science Festival! Our microscopic worm demonstration, worm arts and crafts, and strawberry DNA extraction activities were a big hit. We used the worm to demonstrate the power of genetics and chemical treatments. Many thanks to our team of researchers for putting everything together!

  • Our visiting scholar, Dr. Yasuaki Saitoh, presented a poster at the 2024 Midwest C. elegans Meeting at Grand Rapids. Congratulations on a successful presentation!
